Advertiser Staff

Seventh-ranked Hawai'i swept Boise State, 25-15, 25-13, 25-17 tonight in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match at Bronco Gym in Idaho.

The Rainbow Wahine remained in first place in the WAC at 13-1. They are 20-3 overall and have now won at least 20 matches in 30 of their 35 seasons.

The match lasted just 70 minutes, with Hawai'i continuing its hot hitting and going on long streaks to win the last two sets. The 'Bows hit .352 — their fourth straight match over .350. They were again led by senior Jamie Houston, who had 11 kills and hit over .500 (.556) for the fourth consecutive match.

Aneli Cubi-Otineru added nine kills and hit .467. Freshman Kanani Danielson also had nine kills, and a match-high 18 digs. Amber Kaufman served three of UH's seven aces and Nickie Thomas was in on three blocks.

Boise State (7-17, 3-10) is now 0-18 against Hawai'i. The Broncos were led by freshman Lydia Blaha with three kills.

This trip continues Saturday at third-place Idaho, and Monday at Fresno State. Both matches will be broadcast live on ESPN 1420 AM, beginning at 5 p.m. HST.
