Customers of Hawaii National Bank are being targeted by an e-mail scam that attempts to get them to give out their credit and debit card information.
A phishing e-mail circulated today saying it is from the bank and notifies people that they have a new "ALERT" message and that they need to click on a link taking them to another page where they are asked to provide information.
Hawaii National said anyone who was tricked into entering the data should cancel the credit or debit cards.
"These types of e-mail attacks (also known as "phishing") are sent out randomly to bank customers and noncustomers alike, attempting to steal private information for financial gain," a warning posted by Hawaii National on its Web site said.
"Hawaii National Bank will never request personal, or debit/credit card information via e-mail."
