Online renewals continue to increase

Advertiser Staff

License renewals for engineers, architects, surveyors and landscape architects were completed online 96 percent of the time last year, the State Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs' Professional and Vocational Licensing Division reported yesterday.

The annual licensing ended on April 30 with nearly 7,000 of Hawaii's EASLA licensed professionals choosing to renew their licenses online.

Currently, another group of more than 13,400 licensed professionals are eligible to renew their licenses online at http://pvl.ehawaii.gov/renewals.

Professionals able to renew online for this cycle include:

  • Motor Vehicle Auction, Brokers, Consumer Consultants, Dealers, Branch Location and Salespersons

  • Osteopaths

  • Elevator Mechanics

  • Massage Establishments

  • Massage Therapists

  • Mental Health Counselors

  • Nursing Home Administrators

  • Pest Control Field Representatives and Operators

  • Psychologists

  • Veterinarians

  • Dispensing Opticians

Renewing online offers a 25 percent customer appreciation credit on the renewal fee and a 10 percent discount on the compliance resolution fund fee for all licenses renewed online.

Instructions for completing the online renewal and details of the online discounts have been mailed to each current license holder.

Online renewals will be accepted until midnight on June 30 except for Dispensing Opticians, who have until midnight July 1, 2008.

After that date, renewals will not be accepted online, and renewals must be submitted by mail or in person to:

The development of this online service is part of the state's ongoing initiative to improve efficiency by implementing electronic government services.
