Maui's Kanekoa Texeira was the winning pitcher after tossing a scoreless inning of relief to help the Carolina League beat the California League, 3-1, last night in the High-A all-star game at BB&T Coastal Federal Field in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Texeira, a 2004 Kamehameha Schools alum, represented the Winston-Salem (N.C.) Warthogs of the Chicago White Sox farm system. The right-hander allowed a single and struck out one after he entered the game with the score tied at 1 to start the top of the eighth inning. His team then scored twice in the bottom of eighth, making Texeira the pitcher of record.
