Waipahu man accused of arson

Prosecutors today charged a man for allegedly starting a fire yesterday which damaged a vehicle in the parking of a Waipahu apartment building.

Faatafa Lagaaia is accused of arson with bail at $15,000 pending an initial appearance tomorrow at District Court.

Lagaaia, who was arrested at his Awanei Street residence, allegedly set a stack of mattresses on fire. The fire damaged a vehicle parked in a nearby stall.
