Kauai residents urged to conserve water

Advertiser Staff

Kaua'i County's Department of Water is urging East Kilauea residents to conserve water due to current dry conditions and anticipated heavy demand during the summer.

There has been a significant increase in water usage from East Kilauea households on Wailapa and Huli roads, Waiakalua and North Waiakalua streets, Ko'olau and Kapuna roads, and Kuhi'o Highway from Wailapa to Kapuna roads, officials said.

Although no water outages have occurred, tank levels are low despite water pumps operating at capacity.

For more information, call the Department of Water at 245-5455 during business hours, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
