Harbor Court Bistro to open Aug. 4

Advertiser Staff and News Services

A third operator is moving into the large restaurant space at the Harbor Court residential and office high-rise downtown.

Elizabeth Hata Watanabe, owner of The O Lounge nightclub on Kapi'olani Boulevard, plans to open Harbor Court Bistro, featuring "eclectic international" cuisine, on Aug. 4.

The restaurant, with about 270 seats, will occupy the roughly 13,000-square-foot location at Queen and Bethel streets.

Palomino Euro Bistro had a 10-year run in the space from 1997 to 2007, and was followed by the short-lived casual French bistro Cassis Restaurant and Wine Bar, which chef George Mavrothalassitis operated for 10 months before closing it in February.

Harbor Court Bistro will be open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Dinner entree prices range from $17 to $33. The kitchen will be led by chef Alexio Thomas Corleon, who was educated in France and has worked at Hawai'i restaurants, including Haleiwa Joe's Seafood Restaurant in Kane'ohe, Kapono's at Aloha Tower Marketplace and Jackie's Kitchen at Ala Moana Center.
