Those ono scents wafting over Kapi'olani Park don't come from just any barbecue. It's the seventh annual Korean Festival, which aims to share the culture through much food, dance, art, music and other entertainment and displays.
Among the scheduled attractions:
10 a.m.: Traditional farmers' harvest music
10:47 a.m.: Tae kwon do demonstration
12:45 p.m.: Court dances
1:45 p.m.: Kim chee eating contest
2:56 p.m.: Performances by local Korean dance groups
4:40 p.m. The percussion group SamulGwangDae (which also performs July 19 at Kennedy Theatre; 956-8246, www.etickethawaii.com)
5:30 p.m.: Korean song contest
7 p.m.: K-pop star Kim Se-hwan
Also: There's hula at 11:22 a.m., and a performance by the Royal Hawaiian Band at 11:50 a.m.

Proceeds from the event go toward service projects in the Korean community and beyond. Park at Kapi'olani Community College and catch the free shuttles.
