Accused online sex offender in court Wednesday

Advertiser Staff

A Kalihi man accused of arranging a meeting for sex with a Hawai'i Internet Crimes Against Children task force agent posing as a 14-year-olds girl on the Internet has an initial appearance scheduled Wednesday at District Court.

Jun Baloaloa Tumacder, 29, of an Ashford Street address was arrested for first-degree electronic enticement of a child Wednesday night at a fast-food restaurant in Pearl City when he showed up for the pre-arranged meeting at 10:20 p.m. Tumacder was charged and released after posting $50,000 bail on Thursday.

Tumacder is the first person charged for the offense since a new law carrying a 10-year sentence was passed May 15.
