The Honolulu Fire Department yesterday rescued two vistors from Washington state who were lost on the Ko'olau Summit Trail.
The man, 28, and woman, 24, were not injured, said HFD spokesman Capt. Terry Seelig. The rescue mission was completed at 9:40 p.m.
Seelig said the couple started their hike above the Pupukea Boy Scout Camp and were above the Kahuku Motocross Park when darkness came. The hikers were not familiar with the area and called for help at about 8 p.m.
HFD's helicopter located the hikers and used its spotlight to guide rescuers to the hikers' location.
