KAHULUI
Ferry bringing Maui kids to Oahu to visit museum

Advertiser Staff

The Hawaii Superferry is kicking off its Manta Explorer program tomorrow, bringing 45 children from the Boys & Girls Club of Maui to O'ahu so they can visit the Bishop Museum.

Manta Explorer is a community program providing nonprofit organizations with the chance to voyage on the Superferry for the purpose of exploration and education, a spokeswoman for the Superferry's public relations firm said.

"The Superferry will work with other organizations who will also donate their services to the kids to give them an opportunity they otherwise wouldn't have," said Brooke Wilson of McNeil-Wilson Communications. "Saturday is the first, but the Superferry has plans to work with other nonprofits this year."

Polynesian Adventure Tours of Maui has provided a bus for the children tomorrow, which is also coming over on the ferry.
