Rainbow Classic: Buffalo tops Colorado for championship

Rodney Pierce scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Buffalo rode a small-ball lineup to upend Colorado State, 67-53, and take the 45th Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic championship tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Andy Robinson finished with 13 points and six rebounds and Greg Gamble added 11 points, four rebounds and two assists for the Bulls (8-4).
Marcus Walker, the only CSU player score in double figures, finished with 12 points but shot just 3-of-13 from the field (2-for-9 from 3-point range). Andre McFarland and Jesse Carr each added nine points for the Rams (5-9).
