Ballet Hawaii sets audition for its 'Nutcracker'

Ballet Hawaii will hold auditions for its December production of "Nutcracker" on Sept. 20 at its headquarters on the second floor of Dole Cannery, at 650 Iwilei St.

Pamela Taylor Tongg, artistic director, will conduct the tryouts, set from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for Ballet V, 1to 3 p.m. for Ballet VI and VII, 3 to 4 p.m. for Ballet II and IV, 4 to 5 p.m. for Ballet I and II and 5 to 6 p.m. for pre-ballet.

"Nutcracker" will be staged Dec. 19 through 21, with full orchestra, at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.

Auditions are open to all dancers in the community ages six to adult. Dancers in Ballet VI/VII must bring pointe shoes.
