Maile Way entrance at UH to close at night

The Maile Way entrance to the University of Hawai'i at Manoa campus will be closed nightly starting Monday for safety reasons.
The gate will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. During those hours, the East-West Road entrance will remain open.
Monday is the first day of fall classes for UH.
The university says the Maile Way gate closure is meant to deter late-night thefts and other problems. The Maile Way entrance will be closed in both directions nightly with the use of pole barriers and warning signs.
