Weather: A few more showers than usual likely today

A high pressure area remains north of the state and will continue to bring trade winds to the islands through the rest of the week, the National Weather Service said.

Today should be relatively dry but more moisture will be carried in on the trades tonight, forecasters said.

Enhanced showers, primarily over windward and mauka areas will persist through Wednesday.

Here's how the rest of the work week is shaping up:

Today: Scattered showers, mainly after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Tonight: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. East wind between 11 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Wednesday: Scattered showers, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Wednesday night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. East wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Thursday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 86. East wind between 9 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Thursday night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Friday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. East wind between 11 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Friday night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
