Trade winds will be taking a short absence before returning the second half of the week and the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

Light and variable winds are expected in the interim.

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. East wind between 9 and 15 mph.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind between 11 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. East wind 5 to 11 mph becoming southwest.
