Campbell stops No. 3 Pearl City, 7-6

Sebastian Locquiao went 3 for 4 and drove in three runs, and the visiting Campbell Sabers survived a late rally to upset No. 3 Pearl City, 7-6, yesterday in an O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red West baseball game.

Locquiao had a single, double and solo homer to help Campbell (7-4) take a 7-2 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning

Pearl City, ranked third in The Advertiser's statewide Top 10 poll of coaches and media, scored four runs to close to 7-6 before Campbell reliever Charles Kaalekahi got the final out. The Chargers fell to 9-2.

Duane Kiyota and Kurt Poentis each had two hits with Poentis driving in two runs for Pearl City.

Kalani Brackenridge, Oliver Taoy and Trenton Nakata each paired hits for the Hurricanes.

Kekoa Hughes hit a grand slam in a seven-run sixth to give Kahuku a 16-12 lead.
