A felon with 44 criminal convictions dating back to 1983 is facing possible federal prosecution following his early morning arrest today in Kailua.
Lance William Fox, 42, allegedly resisted arrest and had to be tasered after police learned during a 12:30 a.m. traffic stop on Oneawa Street that he was wanted on a no-bail parole-retake warrant. While trying to arrest the 6-foot, 230-pound Fox, police allegedly saw a semi-automatic pistol in the vehicle.
The gun was loaded, police said.
Fox was booked for two felony firearm offenses and misdemeanor resisting arrest. He was being held tonight at the main police station cellblock.
Fox's criminal record includes past felony drug, firearm, burglary and burglary convictions. His parole was revoked last May 16, according to Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center records. The current firearm offenses combined with his career criminal history could lead to federal charges.
