Sacred Hearts to hold character ed program

Sacred Hearts Academy will host a daylong "Creating Communities of Character" program for educators Saturday.

Sister Katherine Francis Miller is coordinating the program, which is expected to bring togeher 45 teachers from eight schools — both public and private, including one school from Maui.

The workshop will focus on 11 principles of character education. The presenter is Eileen Dachnowicz. .

Sacred Hearts Academy is a National School of Character award winner – one of only 10 in the nation — and was awarded national recognition and a $20,000 grant as a top ten finalist.; $10,000 of the grant is being used on a character education program at the Academy and $10,000 to assist other educators in the community.
