Stream banks to be repaired
Advertiser Staff
The state has kicked off a project to repair the banks of Maunalaha Stream and three bridge crossings damaged by heavy rain in March 2006.
The project will cost about $686,000 and take about five months to complete. The work is part of larger restoration work that has forced the closure of parts of Round Top Drive for more than a year.
Department of Land and Natural Resources Chairwoman Laura H. Thielen said the state, city and FEMA are "continuing to work together to coordinate planning and repairs for slopes above and below Round Top Drive and restoration of Maunalaha Stream that were damaged."
