DIY devotees who surf Etsy and Craftster on the job will want to know about Honolulu-based Liana Miyamura's www.MixedPlateBlog.com, which pays homage to indie arts and crafts from across the country. For example, last week she posted a Q&A with Taryn Hipp of MY MY Art + Craft in faraway Pennsylvania. RSS the blog for daily dishes on great finds and regular guest bloggers from the DIY community. The prolific Miyamura also is behind two must-stop online shops: www.onafriday.net is the e-storefront for her handmade jewelry, and www.punknpie.net stocks adorable keiki duds.

TRY MOONLIGHT BOWLING IN 'AIEA

You know the Monday routine: unchain yourself from your desk, head home and zone out in front of the TV. Change things up: Grab four friends and head to the revamped Aiea Bowl for Moonlight Bowling. We're not thrilled about the rent-a-shoes, but once those puppies are on, it's nothing but fun. Besides going for strikes, you can eat at the new Alley Restaurant — the menu ranges from made-to-order sushi to a Coca-Cola-marinated turkey sandwich (it works) — or kick back in the lounge with a drink. The evening includes deals on games, prize giveaways, music and student discounts. "We play music from the '80s, '90s and now," says promoter Rick Rock. His favorite Moonlight memory? The grand opening night in March. "Every promoter in Honolulu was under one roof, and no one was working; everyone was enjoying themselves." Pins fly from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Price varies according to what Rock has in store. For table reservations, call 699-9042. For alley info, go to www.aieabowl.com.
