Advertiser Staff

A 30-year-old Hale'iwa man was killed late Tuesday when his motorcycle went out of control and hit a tree and utility pole, officials said.

The city medical examiner's office identified him as Nathaniel Graves.

Graves was riding northbound on Kamehameha Highway when, on a curve, the motorcycle went onto the gravel shoulder on Kamehameha Highway and hit a tree and utility pole.

The accident was reported at 11:54 p.m. Tuesday near Emerson Road in Hale'iwa. Graves was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight yesterday, officials said.

Police said he was not wearing a helmet.
