Time out ain't working anymore, and talking in a firm loud voice ain't that much help either. She basically acts like she can't hear you until you start raising your voice and getting louder. ... Any tips would be greatly appreciated."

MEDIA WATCH

REMEMBER THESE CLASSICS FROM THE DUKE?

The Duke — Wayne, not Kahanamoku — is back in a big way with the release of the "John Wayne Film Collection" (Warner Home Video, $49.92). The set of six films, all on DVD for the first time, goes beyond "The Green Berets" with lesser-known gems such as "Allegheny Uprising" (1939), in which Wayne leads an anti-colonial rebellion against the British; and the inside Hollywood comedy "Without Reservations" (1946). But the most interesting film is "Big Jim McLain" (1952), in which Wayne plays a House Un-American Activities Committee investigator on the trail of "subversives" in pre-statehood Hawai'i.
