Students from Kapolei High School finished first in the business segment of the 2007 High School Marketing Plan and Business Plan Competitions this week.

Thirty-six high school teams submitted marketing and business plans in the competitions run by the Department of Education and the University of Hawai'i's Shidler College of Business as a way to promote enthusiasm in business education.

Scrap Inc., a Kapolei team comprised of Megan Lee, Keoni Medeiros and Kaylyne Tolentino and led by teacher Renette Walker, won the business plan competition while a team from Hilo High School won the marketing plan segment.
