HALE'IWA
Xcel to raise cancer funds

Advertiser Staff

North Shore-based company Xcel Wetsuits has teamed with the Cancer Research Center of Hawai'i to raise awareness and funding for cancer research and prevention.

Through May 31, Xcel will donate a portion of its UV-protection clothing sales to the center in recognition of Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month.

"The people of Hawai'i are exposed to the sun every day, which increases our risk of skin cancer," said Dr. Carl-Wilhelm Vogel, director of the Cancer Research Center. "Taking active measures to increase UV protection is an important step in promoting skin cancer prevention."

Xcel stores are in Hale'iwa and at Ward Centre.
