Student delegates from the University of Hawai'i-Hilo won honors at the National Model United Nations Conference at the U.N. headquarters in New York.

The UH-Hilo team was honored as a Distinguished Delegation, placing the team among the top 5 percent of the participants from nearly 300 colleges and universities. That amounts to a second-place finish.

Team members include Amber Lee, David Hazelton, Gustavo Arceo, Kimberly Galigo, Arjuna McGowen, Matthew Bailey, Manuel Edghill, Marc Fournier, Jeremy Gourd, Morgan Warner, Ethann Oki, Muliufi Tuimalealiifano, Brittany Marshall and Kreesta Vesga.
