'Cultural Connections' opens at JCCH gallery

The exhibit "Navigating Cultural Connections: Hokule'a's Voyage to Japan" opens at 11:30 a.m. today at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i's Community Gallery.

Inspired by the voyaging canoe's current journey to Micronesia and Japan, the exhibit looks at the historical and cultural ties between the Islands and the island nation.

Admission is $5 general, $3 Hawai'i residents, free for JCCH members. 945-7633. The gallery's regular hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays. The "Cultural Connections" exhibit continues through June 1.
