ACT lineup includes 'Mattress,' 'Fiddler'

Renee Garcia Hartenstein will be Princess Winnifred the Woebegone, and Tina Shelton and Lenny Klompus will play her royal parents in the comedic musical "Once Upon a Mattress."
Shari Lynn portrays Golde, the spouse in the classic musical about Anatevka in Czarist Russian, in "Fiddler on the Roof," though the role of Tevye the Milkman who converses with God has yet to be cast.
These two shows are part of the Army Community Theatre's 2007-08 four-musical season at Richardson Theatre, Fort Shafter.
"Mattress," based on "The Princess and the Pea," will be staged Sept. 6-22, with Rich- ard MacPherson directing and Grace Bell Humerickhouse choreographing. Auditions will be July 9-11.
"Fiddler" will run Nov. 15 through Dec. 1, with CoCo Wiel directing, Jennifer Shannon choreographing and Lina Doo conducting. Auditions will be Sept. 10-12.
"Aida," the Elton John-Tim Rice rendering of the Egyptian story, will be staged Feb. 28 through March 15, with Vanita Rae Smith directing, Grace Bell Humerickhouse choreographing and Peter Rucci conducting. Auditions will be Nov. 26-28.
"Bye, Bye Birdie," the musical inspired by the Elvis Presley-like rock star inducted into the Army, will close out the season May 8-24, with music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. Katherine Jones will choreograph; the rest of the production team is yet to be selected. Auditions will be March 10-12.

In addition, a Readers Theatre season plays at 2 p.m. Sundays during the three-week run of the main-stage musicals. The slate includes Anton Chekhov's "The Three Sisters," Henrik Ibsen's "The Wild Duck," Eugene O'Neill's "The Great God Brown" and Friedrich Durrenmatt's "The Visit."
