WAI'ANAE
Nonprofit gets $20,000 grant

Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i Maoli, a nonprofit affiliate of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs, has received a $20,000 grant from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs for publication of a Native Hawaiian business directory next year.

The directory is intended to catalog Island for-profit and nonprofit organizations that are controlled by Hawaiians. In 2006, Hawai'i Maoli commissioned the Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce to survey Hawaiian businesses throughout the state.

The new directory will provide adequate business information so that Native Hawaiian organizations can better engage with one another, the group said.
