Next week is Take Your Daughter to the Course Week at Makalei. Daughters younger than 22 can golf for free with a paying guest at the Big Island golf course. Call the golf shop (325-6625) for a tee time.

Makalei is also scheduling 'Ohana Day on July 21, at noon. Golfers are encouraged to bring the entire family for a day of basic instruction. It will begin at the driving range with a complimentary clinic by PGA professionals Kevin Ginoza and Kyle Herzberg.

There will also be an " 'Ohana 5 Hole Challenge" beginning at 3 p.m. Families are encouraged to create a four-person team, with at least three members related. Format is alternate shot and entry fee is $10 per team.

On July 28, Makalei will hold a Taylor Made Demo Day to try out the newest drivers and irons.
