While Duane "Dog" Chapman faces possible extradition to Mexico, he can find a bone here in the Islands. Kailua-born musician Matt Glickstein, a University Lab School and University of Redlands graduate, has written and recorded a benefit song, "Set the Dog Free," which is available on iTunes. He shot a video on the boardwalk in Venice Beach, Calif.

"I wrote the song to tell the story of Andrew Luster and also to raise awareness of Dog's situation and to help with his defense fund," Glickstein said. "He shouldn't have to pay thousands of dollars for catching a rapist." Fifty percent of the iTunes sales will go to his defense fund.

For Glickstein, being from O'ahu means a special connection: "In Hawai'i, everyone rallies around when someone is in trouble," he said.
