Talk on WWII Ni'ihau crash

Advertiser Staff

The 'Aiea Public Library will host a program on "The Japanese Zero Pilot Who Terrorized the Secluded Island of Niihau: December 1941," at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 6 in the meeting room.

The free one-hour program will feature a presentation by Patricia Beekman on "The Niihau Incident," a book written by her father, the late Allan Beekman. The incident occurred after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, when a Japanese Zero fighter pilot crash-landed on Ni'ihau.

Patricia Beekman will discuss the incident and share her father's experiences while he did research for the book.
