Hawaii Superferry sets sail Aug. 28

Advertiser Staff

The Hawaii Superferry will launch Aug. 28 — a week earlier than expected.

The company has been taking reservations for trips starting Sept. 5. But beginning at 6 a.m. today, ticket agents will start making reservations for trips on Aug. 28 through Jan. 15.

"We're really looking forward to bringing this inter-island transportation alternative to the residents of Hawai'i," said Terry O'Halloran, director of business development.

To buy tickets for superferry service to Maui or Kaua'i and back to Honolulu, go to www .hawaiisuperferry.com or call 877-443-3779. Ticket agents are available seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Group customers should call 853-4115 on weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

One-way fares start at $52, with discounts for children, the military and seniors, and if you buy online and in advance. It costs an additional $59 to $69 one-way to bring a car, and more to bring a pickup truck or van.
