It's local ingredients only for Made in Hawaii chefs

Chefs from across the Islands will feature locally grown ingredients in cooking demonstrations at the 2007 Made in Hawaii Festival.
The festival takes place Aug. 17 to 19 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall and Arena. Festivalgoers can help themselves to samples of the chefs' creations after the demos.
University of Hawai'i athletics coaches Bob Nash (men's basketball), Jim Bolla (women's basketball) and Carmyn James (track and field) will be going head-to-head in the festival's first-ever "Coaches Chili Cook-Off Challenge" at 6 p.m. on Aug. 18. A $500 cash prize will be awarded to the winning coach's athletic program. The cook-off will be hosted by radio personality Billy V.
All cooking demonstrations will be held in the Blaisdell Arena.

AUG. 17
2 p.m.: Derek Kurisu of Hilo, KTA Super Stores
4 p.m.: Chef Eldon Ricardo, Holokai Grill
6 p.m.: Chef Elmer Guzman, Poke Stop
AUG. 18
Noon: Chef Grant Sato, Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Kapi'olani Community College
2 p.m.: Chef Mark Ellman and Chef Greg Denton, Mala Ocean Tavern
4 p.m.: Chef Fred DeAngelo, Ola
6 p.m.: University of Hawai'i athletics coaches, Chili Cook-Off
AUG. 19
Noon: Chef Michael Imada, Colony Restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa
2 p.m.: Chef William Bruhl, BluWater Grill
The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 17 and Aug. 18; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 19. Admission is $3; children 6 and younger are free. Dollar-off coupons will be available at all First Hawaiian Bank branches on O'ahu this month while supplies last.
The 2007 Made in Hawaii Festival is produced by the Hawaii Food Industry Association and sponsored by First Hawaiian Bank. Cooking demonstrations are sponsored by the Hawaii Medical Service Association.
