  • WAYNE GOO has been hired as an associate and project manager at WCIT Architecture. Goo, formerly of Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo, draws on experience in architectural design and project management locally and worldwide. Brett K. Yamashita has been hired as a senior designer, and Stacey Ikeda has joined the firm as an administrative assistant.

  • PAUL K. UYEHARA has been named automotive sales manager for The Honolulu Advertiser. Uyehara was advertising manager at Honolulu Ford for 11 years and has also worked in various marketing capacities at International Savings and Loan and Starr Seigle Communications.

  • ROB JAMES has been promoted to associate at Helbert Hastert & Fee Planners Inc. Since joining the company in 2003 as a geographic information system analyst, he has focused on building and managing a GIS system to support mapping and decision-making for a variety of residential, commercial and military projects in Hawai'i and the Pacific Region.

  • Ronald C. Ward, Jenifer Bradley and Jeff Shinagawa have been promoted vice presidents at Colliers Monroe Friedlander, a commercial/industrial property management and brokerage firm.

  • Xerox Hawaii has named DINA CHA marketing programs and project coordinator, overseeing the company's trade shows, special events and customer-focused marketing projects.

  • Kiewit Building Group, a national general contractor and construction manager, has promoted Tom Broderick to Honolulu operations manager. In his new role, Broderick oversees operations for all projects in the Hawai'i area, including projects on O'ahu, Maui and the Big Island — projects that in the last year alone totaled more than $200 million.

  • JOSEPH YAMAOKA, KEALII ALEXANDER and TERRY YASUHARA each have been named general manager at an Aqua Hotels & Resorts property. Yamaoka was named general manager of the 262-room, AAA three-diamond Aqua Palms and Spa. Alexander was named general manager of the 202-room Aqua Aloha Surf. Yasuhara was named general manager of the 740-room Aqua Island Colony. Other recent appointments include KEHEALANI DOSS, assistant general manager of Aqua Palms and Spa; JULIAN MARTINEZ, assistant general manager of Aqua Island Colony; and SHELLEY TOKUDA, guest services manager for Aqua Aloha Surf, responsible for front-desk operations and other front-office functions.
