PATRICK LIM, owner/operator of McDonald's Restaurants on the Hilo side of the Big Island; and RICHARD RAND, an attorney with Torkildson, Katz, Fonseca, Moore and Hetherington, have been named board members for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Hawaii. The 17-member board also announced its officers for 2006-2007. They are: president, DR. DANIEL ROBIE, pediatric surgeon at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women and Children; first vice president, BRIAN TAKEDA, project planner at R.M. Towill Corp.; second vice president, BRUCE YANAGIHARA, sales manager at Prudential Locations; secretary, TERRI CANO, owner of Designing With TLC interior design firm; treasurer, PAUL TAKAYESU, vice president, commercial banking at Bank of Hawai'i. Since opening in 1987, the Ronald McDonald House has served as "home-away-from-home" for thousands of seriously ill children and their families who have come to Honolulu for medical treatment.
DEEMS NARIMATSU has been promoted from vice president-westbound sales to senior vice president for Roberts Hawaii. He will oversee day-to-day operations on all islands. Also, DAVID OYADOMARI has been named vice president-westbound sales and marketing, and will oversee Roberts' sales and marketing teams.
DR. KIMBERLY ANN CHARLTON, chief of staff and staff inpatient psychiatrist at Kahi Mohala, has taken on the added responsibility of clinical director of the behavioral health facility's Lokelani Child and Adolescent Unit. Besides supervising physicians and staff, she will maintain clinical duties, including as attending physician for child and adolescent patients.
HESTER KAMIN has been named education director for the Hawai'i Theatre Center. As such, she will lead the Hawai'i Youth Actors' Ensemble, a youth theater program in collaboration with Maryknoll High School; be charged with creation of a Job Skills Apprenticeship Program, and development of HTC's student matinee series in theatre and dance. Kamin formerly served as drama education associate for Honolulu Theatre for Youth, and dance choreographer for the Hawai'i Shakespeare Festival. Also, SHELLEY THOMPSON has been elected chairman of the theater center board of directors. Thompson is executive vice president of Bank of Hawai'i. Joining Thompson as 2006-2007 officers are vice chairs, KAREN HUFFMAN, MARY WEYAND, AL TOMONARI, HEIDI SNOW AND MARK WONG; secretary ANNE SWANSON and treasurer PAUL SCHRAFF.
JAMES DONNELLY has been named director of marketing for local collection agency AR Recovery Solutions of Hawaii. The 21-year veteran of the collection industry is a previous owner of a Mainland agency.
CONNIE CLAUSEN has been named branch manager for American Savings Bank's Kapa'a branch. Clausen is a former business development account executive for Kaua'i Community Federal Credit Union and helped form and chaired the Kaua'i Chamber of Commerce's Environmental Affairs Committee.
