If you love being out in nature, enjoy working with young students and have at least one day a week to spare, this may be just the thing for you: The Waimea Valley Audubon Center seeks volunteers to work as teaching docents alongside field educators in school programs. Training is provided; volunteers should commit from 9 a.m. to noon (hours are flexible) at least one day a week through December. For details: 638-9199, ext. 210.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

STAR MOMENTS

Need a way to keep track of your child's special moments that's fun and easy?

Consider this tip from author Robyn Spizman: "Create a scrapbook that highlights one shining moment in your child's life each month," she said. "Add more moments as time permits."

— Zenaida Serrano

FINAL WORD

"The men who do the most with their lives are those who approach human existence, its opportunities and its problems — even its rough moments — with a confident attitude and an enthusiastic point of view."

Norman Vincent Peale | author of "Enthusiasm Makes the Difference"
