Second seeds Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers defeated top seeds Mike Lambert and Stein Metzger, 21-16, 21-13, yesterday to win the Association of Volleyball Professionals' Cincinnati Open.
Dalhausser and Rogers became the first team since 1998 to win seven titles in a single season.
Lambert and Metzger, both Punahou School alums, were awarded the inaugural AVP Crocs Cup. They edged Dalhausser and Rogers by six points in the season-long standings.
"Winning the Crocs Cup was our No. 1 goal because you can look back at the entire season and say it was successful and have a trophy to prove it," Lambert said.
