OIA Red Conference playoffs begin Friday

The O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red Conference football playoff matchups have been set, but some dates, times and locations are still tentative because of pending television broadcast negotiations with OC-16.

In first-round action Friday, East No. 4 seed Castle will play West No. 5 'Aiea. The other first-round game between West No. 4 Kapolei and East No. 5 Kailua will be played at Mililani, either Friday or Saturday.

In the quarterfinals the weekend of Oct. 27-28, East No. 2 Farrington will play West No. 3 Mililani, West No. 2 Leilehua will play East No. 3 McKinley, East No. 1 Kahuku will play the winner of Kailua-Kapolei and West No. 1 Wai'anae will play the winner of 'Aiea-Castle.

OIA football coordinator Harold Tanaka said the dates, times and locations will be finalized at an athletic directors meeting tomorrow.
