Advertiser Staff

On the third Saturday of each month young O'ahu filmmakers get together for the Showdown in Chinatown — a 24-hour film festival.

Teams make a film in a day and converge at thirtyninehotel (39 N. Hotel St.) to show their stuff. Post-film, resident DJ Mark spins until 2 a.m.

Stake your place early — seats fill up fast (the event is free). The showdown starts at 9 p.m. www.thirtyninehotel.com.
