Police arrested one man and were looking for two others in three unrelated attempted-murder cases on O'ahu yesterday.

In the first case, a 77-year-old Maunawili woman was stabbed in the back and stomach during an argument with her 56-year-old son-in-law. Police said the two got into an argument at their Maunawili Road home about 11:20 a.m. and that the woman was stabbed with a kitchen knife.

The woman was taken to The Queen's Medical Center, where her condition was not available last night.

Shortly after noon, police arrested the man on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder. He was being held in a police cellblock last night pending charges.

In Wai'anae yesterday afternoon, a man fired two shots into a car that was occupied by two women.

Police said the man pulled up next to the women's car on Mill Street at about 5:45 p.m. and fired two rounds into the car's front fender. The man drove away.

The women, ages 19 and 23, were not injured. Police said the women were uncooperative and that they would not say why the man may have attacked them.

In the third incident, police were searching for a man who stabbed a woman in a Kalihi home last night. Details of that incident were not available, but the stabbing occurred in a Kopke Street home and was reported about 9:40 p.m.

Police said the suspect was seen running on Kopke Street following the incident. He was described as being in his 30s and was wearing a black jacket and black shorts.

Police recovered a bloody knife fronting another Kopke Street home shortly after the incident.

The woman was taken to Queen's, but her condition was not immediately available last night.
