Services for long-time Advertiser writer Ferd Borsch today

Services for longtime Honolulu Advertiser sports writer Ferd Borsch will be today at Sacred Heart Parish at 1701 Wilder Ave.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. and mass at 9:30. Refreshments will be provided.

There will be military honors after Mass since Borsch received an honorable discharge from the Air Force, said Gene Kaneshiro, Borsch's brother-in-law and longtime friend.

The family requests aloha attire and no flowers.

Private inurnment will be in the afternoon. Borsch, the Advertiser's baseball writer for 40 years, died June 25 after a long illness. He was 77.
