BayFest celebrations today at noon, through Fourth …

At the Marine base by the bay — Kane'ohe Bay — they're celebrating the Independence Day weekend like crazy! How else to describe the five-day BayFest that began last night and continues through the Fourth of July?

There are carnival rides, games, food, car shows, military displays, the Island Lifestyle Expo and entertainment by headliners Chris Cagle tonight, Staind tomorrow night, Molly Hatchet and Trick Pony Monday and Tuesday and 38 Special on Tuesday.

Firework displays take place each night — at 10:30 today, 10:45 tomorrow, 10:30 Monday and 10:45 Tuesday.

Hours are noon to 1 a.m. today and tomorrow; 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Monday; and noon to midnight Tuesday. Admission is cheaper if you go earlier. At the gate it's $12 general, $10 military, $5 kids 6 to 12 before 5 p.m.; $20, $15 and $10 after 5 p.m. Free for kids 5 and younger.
