    EXTRA TREATS

PUBLICITY JUST ICING ON THE CUPCAKES

Hokulani Bakeshop, the cupcake and cookie bakery at Restaurant Row, has been featured in a number of Japanese-language media. Just before Christmas, the Japanese travel channel, Travelix, shot a segment at the store with owner Tushar Dubey teaching the show host how to decorate cookies. The segment airs in February. Other spots have included the FM radio program "Colors of Hawaii," and the Web site of Pacific Resorts, a Japanese travel agency.

Hokulani had a very fleeting segment in a U.S. Travel Channel show about how tropical places celebrate the holidays. Dubey didn't even know about that one until he started getting calls from the Mainland.
