'Iolani holds off St. Francis

Kai Masutani batted 3 for 3 and drove in one run as 'Iolani turned back St. Francis, 5-2, yesterday in a showdown of undefeated Interscholastic League of Honolulu softball teams at Ala Wai Field.
Tara Odo added two hits and an RBI and Raechelle Takara drove in two runs for the Raiders (4-0).
Brittney Guro shut out the Troubadours (3-1) for five innings before allowing both runs in the sixth.
Ashley Smith, Sasha Koki and Ululani Reyes each had two hits for St. Francis.

RAINBOWS SIGN 11 FOR NEXT SEASON
The University of Hawai'i swimming and diving team signed 10 females and one male during the early signing period, head coach Victor Wales announced.
The incoming Rainbow Wahine are: Maura Barrett of Chico Senior High (Chino, Calif.), Kyley Eisenman of Upper Arlington High (Columbus, Ohio), Jessica Glew of Queenwood School for Girls (Mosman, Australia), Nicole Larson of Robert McQueen High (Reno, Nev.), Alyssa Manlow of Heritage High (Vancouver, Wash.), Camille Newman of Chaparral High (Scottsdale, Ariz.), Amanda Meteague of St. Joseph's High (Toronto, Canada), Brianna de Palezieux of St. Joseph High (Ottawa, Canada), Ricarda Schelenberg of Sportgymnasium (Leipzig, Germany) and Jessica Stacy of Skyview High (Vancouver, Wash.).
The incoming Rainbow Warrior is Daniel Worden of Crescent Valley High (Corvallis, Ore.).
The UH swimming and diving teams will host Northwestern in a dual meet Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex. The date was moved up one day after Purdue dropped out of the originally scheduled triangular meet.
