Shades of "Jurassic Park"! Well, maybe not so harrowing. In fact, the traveling exhibit "Dinosaurs Alive!" is a family-friendly, interactive sort, with moving, roaring creatures from the land that, far from being forgotten, holds much fascination for the human species.

The exhibit opens today at the Bishop Museum and continues through Jan. 26. But if you wait until tomorrow, you can attend the Family Sunday celebration (from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) for just $3 per person — free for keiki 3 and younger and museum members.

At Family Sunday, there'll also be crafts, food booths and entertainment. And fossils expert Keith Kruger will offer "Fossils That Tell Stories" sessions at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Castle Memorial Building.

Family Sunday is sponsored by Kraft Foods Hawaii. Can't make it to the museum tomorrow? Bring a nonperishable Kraft food product during the "Dinosaurs Alive!" exhibit, and get $3 off the keiki admission price — and the food will be donated to the Hawaii Foodbank. There's a limit of one discount per child, up to two per family.

General admission is $14.95 adults, $11.95 for those 4-12 and 65 and older. Beginning next year, the general-admission fees will go up by $1.

For kama'aina and military, it's $7.95 and $6.95; it's $9.95 for nonresidents who are accompanied by residents or military. And it's always free for keiki 3 and younger and museum members. 847-3511, www.bishopmuseum.org.
