  • New York Life Insurance Co. agent ROBERT P. CORBOY has earned membership in the Million Dollar Round Table for the 40th consecutive year. The distinguishing life insurance career milestone is accorded to top life insurance and financial service professionals worldwide. Corboy has been a New York Life agent since 1965.

  • The University of Hawai'i has selected WAYNE NAKAMURA as the 2006 recipient of the President's Award for Excellence in Buildings and Grounds Maintenance. Nakamura's expertise in electrical, plumbing, masonry, carpentry and other areas of general construction has resulted in a Manoa Campus Center savings of about $40,000 over the last year. He will receive his award in UH ceremonies in September.

  • Paul DeVille, Laurie Hong Wong and Debbie Nakanelua-Richards received Alumni Achievement Awards from Maryknoll School during a recent Alumni Class Dinner. DeVille (class of 1966) is president and chief executive officer of Hilo Hattie and serves on a number of local corporate and nonprofit boards, including Diamond Head Theatre, Honolulu Festivals Foundation, March of Dimes and Pomare Ltd. Wong (class of 1956) is a community entrepreneur and volunteer who has operated The Paperie gift and stationery store in Kahala Mall for 18 years. She has also served as a religious education teacher and member of the pastoral council at Star of the Sea Parish and is a volunteer for the Catholic Charities Island Treasures event. Richards (class of 1976) coordinates Hawaiian Airlines' participation in a number of community events in her capacity as manager of government and community relations. She is a former Miss Hawai'i and featured performer at The Halekulani. The Alumni Achievement Awards are given to those Maryknoll graduates who exemplify the school's motto, Noblesse Oblige, "To whom much is given, much is expected."
