  • Fluor Corp. has has named ALAN MOCKLER project manager for the $83.9 million Ford Island Master Development Project in Pearl Harbor. He will additionally oversee all of Fluor's Hawai'i and Pacific region projects.

  • BENJAMIN I. FUKUMOTO, state deputy director of commerce and consumer affairs under Gov. Ben Cayetano, has been named chairman of the Pan-Pacific Festival — Matsuri in Hawai'i. The annual festival, sponsored in part by the Hawai'i Tourism Authority, is held in conjunction with the King Kamehameha Celebration to promote intercultural friendship between Hawai'i and Japan. Fukumoto is president of the United Japanese Society of Hawai'i, and vice chairman of the Hiroshima-Hawai'i Sister-State Committee.

  • CHRISTOPHER BORDEN has been named director of operations for Star Markets Ltd. He began his career as a management trainee at the Kihei, Maui, store, and was promoted to store manager of Star Market Honokowai, Maui, in 2004.

  • CLAYTON HUBNER has been named dean of Brigham Young University Hawai'i's School of Business, effective Aug. 1. Hubner joined BYU-Hawai'i in 2003, teaching operations management and the capstone course in business strategy.

  • Retired Army Brig. Gen. JAMES T. HIRAI has been named deputy director of the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies. Most recently, Hubner served as chief in the Office of Security Cooperation in Afghanistan.

  • LISA VIDINHA has been named manager of cardio-pulmonary services for Kuakini Health System. The 20-year Kuakini respiratory therapist previously served as cardio-pulmonary services supervisor.
