Library hosting Keiki Storytimes

Kapolei Public Library will hold Keiki Storytimes at the Sunset on the Plain this weekend at Kapolei Regional Park.
The storytimes will feature children's librarians reading their favorite stories each hour from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Sunday in the park's Ohana Village.
The Friends of the Library Kapolei will also host a book sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. under a tent between the Market place and the Ohana Village both days.
FUNDRAISER FOR ARTS IS OCT. 15
The Hawai'i Alliance for Arts Education will present its annual Celebrate the ARTS! fundraising event on Oct. 15 at the Hawai'i Theatre Center.
This year, the organization is celebrating its 25th anniversary and honoring Alfred Preis Honoree Beebe Freitas, associate artistic director (and former artistic director) of the Hawai'i Opera Theatre.
Also recognized will be the 2005 Arts Excellence schools: Connections Public Charter School; King Intermediate School; Haleakala Waldorf School; La Pietra School; Maui Waena Intermediate School; Mid-Pacific Institute School for the Arts; Punahou School's Case Middle School; Stevenson Intermediate School; St. Ann's School; and Jarrett Intermediate School.

SUMMER SESSIONS CATALOG A WINNER
The University of Hawai'i summer sessions was awarded the "Best Catalog — Newspaper Format" award at a recent meeting of the Western Association of Summer Session Administrators.
The catalog is produced by Outreach College, which administers summer sessions for UH-Manoa.
A CHANCE TO STUDY 2 YEARS IN JAPAN
American University of Hawai'i graduate students studying the relationship between the United States and Japan can apply for the Crown Prince Akihito Scholarship for the 2006-07 school year.
The scholarship covers one or two years of study in Japan and provides $15,000 plus a tuition supplement of up to $5,000 and a cost-of-living adjustment of 600,000 yen annually.
