ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Dads just kids at heart

Advertiser Staff

Can't keep your hands off your kids' stuff? You're not alone. Some real-dad confessions, from Parents magazine:

  • "When I see my daughter's Archie comics lying around, I'll pick one up and start reading. It's like therapy after a tough day at work."

  • "I can't resist my son's fruit snacks. I tried to sneak them, but my wife found out."

  • "I moved my kids' GameCube system into the living room. That way, I don't have to wake them up when I want to play."

  • "My wife noticed how quickly we ran out of my (baby) son's lavender skin lotion, so I 'fessed up. Now she buys the jumbo size for us to share."

    HOME IMPROVEMENT

    ELIMINATING THOSE PESKY MOLD SPORES

Mold and indoor moisture are constant threats to so many Island homes. Now there's a new weapon in the battle against mold and airborne unwanteds: O*ZONELite, a light bulb that claims to help purify the air and eliminate moisture.

The 23-watt bulb fits anywhere a standard bulb will fit, and lasts up to 6,000 hours. It gives off the same light output as a regular 100-watt incandescent bulb.

Each bulb is coated with titanium dioxide and, when illuminated, manufacturers say the photocatalytic action helps in the elimination of mold spores by reducing the microorganisms into harmless carbon dioxide and water.

Not available yet in stores, O*ZONELite can be ordered online at: www.ozonelite.com or (800) 494-8292. It's pricey, though, at $39.95 per bulb.

    FINAL WORD

"It's an incredibly awkward thing to be kissing your husband and have it being taped while a crew is watching."

Sophia Bush | on doing love scenes with her husband, Chad Michael Murray, on "One Tree Hill." The couple announced Monday that they were separating.
